MOVE IN DAY...
We were welcomed at the University of Tulsa with an organized team of encouragers, helpers, movers in-ers, and mom, dad, sis and bro buttons. Everybody was made to feel important!
..yep, its all kinda overwhelming. All that stuff in a small cinder block room...all needing to find its spot.
Hovering parents, resident assistants eager to help,
... nervous kids and parents making jokes and comparing notes...and an excitement level that I wish could be captured and contained.
Thankfully, the ice cream truck made frequent rounds throughout campus, offering its complimentary delights to all that desired them.
Something pretty cool about going up to the ice cream truck and ordering whatever you want, whenever you want!
Memories from home to make it "his".
mostly treasures from family trips, and projects with mom , dad and sibs., mission trips, marks of adventures to be remembered...and anticipation of more to come.
And, course lots of goofiness..
takin' a test drive...
The day stretched to dusk, when "see ya laters" were said and giant hugs given. We miss you already, Landry!

How did it get so late so soon?
How did it get so late so soon?
It's night before it's afternoon.
December is here before it's June.
My goodness how the time has flewn.
How did it get so late so soon?
~Dr. Seuss
Tomorrow...we will load up "the combie" with a few treasures of boyhood, and a whole lot of anticipation, fresh new books and linens, and "stuff"...
and take our Landry to begin college life at the University of Tulsa.
We've done it before..in fact three times, but that doesn't mean it gets any easier.
Or keep this mom from fluttering around his dorm room, making the x-long hard slab mattress his most comfortable bed possible with down and new pillows and her "touch".
As if,... you can pour and store love into a dorm room makeover...
He'll know. We'll know. Its so right. But it still is hard. And I will hold back tears and snap pictures till our smiles hurt.
Thankful that he is only two hours away, and that there's a mighty lot of love 'tween us and we'll be there and he'll be back often...
and we will all get to share in his new experiences and friendships, and blessings.
And...while all of this is happnin', our Amy will be unloading her belongings into her novel, fun new little home in Louisville.
Our girl, with the most engaging smile ever, will find her fresh treasures too, with her masters degree underway, blossoming friendships, and the binding unity she will find with the new class of 300 also beginning their quest.
Life sure moves fast...enjoy the moment!!
